Lilypad Palm Beach has been described by the designer as a “penthouse villa living with the movements of the ocean”. Palm Beach is located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches area, about an hour drive from the city. The small coastal suburb boasts beautiful beaches and amazing eateries, perfect for the travelling weekender.
The design of Lilypad was carefully considered and constructed so the water home only gently sways, but nowhere near as much as a boat would. The pad is environmentally friendly and is fully powered by solar panels.
The floating suite accommodates overnight stays for two people, but is also available to host smaller events in the outdoor shaded area that seats 10. The suite consists of elegant and luxurious features, such as a high-end bathroom and a humidity-controlled wine cellar.
Lilypad offers three different stay packages, based on how many nights stay and the choice of luxurious extras.
The Romantic Escape is a one night package based at $1,450 for two guests. This package includes a private concierge, a welcome tasting plate with Veuve Clicquot Champagne, an open wine cellar, on-board dinner with gourmet meats for the barbecue with chef prepared sides, salads and dessert, and an onboard breakfast from The Boathouse Cafe.
The Signature Escape is a two night stay based at $2,800 for two guests. This consists of a private concierge, welcome tasting plate with Veuve Clicquot Champagne, an open wine cellar, on board dinner, on board breakfast from The BoatHouse, housekeeping service and an afternoon tasting plate on the second day that leads into a Barrenjoey House dinner reservation; valued at $350.
The Altitude Escape is the final package that can be chosen and is a one night stay based at $2,560. This package is the most incredible way to experience Lilypad and Palm Beach. It consists of return seaplane flights from Rose Bay in Sydney’s East. Guests are then offered a premium barbecue package and matching wine. The guests that do choose the Altitude Escape also have the same services as mentioned in the other two packages.
There are three different menus, consisting of the welcome tasting plate which can feature seafood such as oysters, prawns and sashimi or cured meats and cheese. The dinner for the barbecue includes premium cut eye fillet steaks served with homemade chimchurri, lamb cutlets, greek style lamb kebabs and Hoy soy chicken kebabs. The sides for the dinner also include roasted rainbow vegetables, roast swish brown mushroom, and quinoa, rocket and goats feta salad.
The dessert is the head chef’s comfort speciality – chocolate mousse cups with fresh fruit. The breakfast that can be enjoyed onboard includes granola and yoghurt pots, a seasonal fruit platter, and mini toasted banana bread. However, if guests want to dine in on land, they are able to with a complimentary $60 voucher, and guests can choose from avo on toast, to pancakes, to eggs.
Included with every package are some amazing additions, such as the wine cellar which is full with Veuve Clicquot, Cloudy Bay, Cape Mentelle, Glenmorangie Whiskey and Heineken beer. Guests also have the option to use the luxury self-drive private tender boat – perfect for beach picnics and exploring, however, they can also choose to use the on call private tender boat with a skipper for pick ups and drop offs.
Inside, guests are provided with a King bed with premium Sheridan linen, robes and slippers, WiFi, Netflix, Foxtel and Bose sound system. Additionally, outside guests can use the paddle boards and fishing rods.
Before Lilypad was available for the public through Airbnb and Lilypad website, it was previously only accessible if you were a member. There were only ten memberships available each year and these cost a cool $43,200 annually. The membership allowed guests to have just eighteen visits to Lilypad each year, but of course this included a few luxurious perks. Members would be offered luxury private transfers in seaplanes and chef-prepared gourmet food and drinks.
Lilypad boasts private island vibes and is becoming a playground for Sydney’s most elite. This is the perfect destination for those who adore ocean views and love entertaining in places that are extremely unique.
